MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- From the Storm Team Weather Center ...
The unsettled weather is heading in our direction from the west, with an initial line of stronger storms likely to impact tri-state counties early this evening. The strongest activity is forecast to ride along to the northeast, while the broader line of rain and embedded thunder follows late tonight through Friday morning for the rest of the region. Isolated cases of severe thunderstorms are possible, with peak chances tonight near the Apalachicola/Chattahoochee/Flint river basins. For most of Friday in the Big Bend, rain and thunder will be periodic and scattered, with even a chance for a brief break of sun in the afternoon. Lows will be in the 60s and highs mainly in the 70s. The cold front set to produce this evening's storm action will stall near the coastal zones into Saturday, linger while it produces more showers and thunder with some upper-level support, then return to the north Easter Sunday. This setup will mean off-and-on rain activity with occasional thunderstorms in the mix. While not continuous, any rain that falls may be heavy and add up to a couple of inches in general accumulation through the weekend.
