Storm Team Thursday evening forecast (08/28/2014)

MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- From the Storm Team Weather Center ...

A gradual moistening trend started today and will continue through the Labor Day weekend.  The moisture will help fuel those pesky daytime and early evening showers and thunderstorms, so the recent dryness will not be experienced into the holiday time frame.  However, the entire weekend won’t be a washout.  Tonight, major storm activity is unlikely as clouds thin out and the sky becomes mainly clear.  Lows will fall to the upper 60s inland to low and mid 70s coast.  Highs will be able to reach the middle 90s Friday afternoon before pockets of cloudiness thicken and a few scattered areas of rain form.  Showers and storms will become more numerous over the weekend, but tamped down some because of a nearby high-pressure system in the upper atmosphere.  Occasional downpours or a briefly strong storm can’t be ruled out through early next week.  Despite a few spots of tropical activity, there won’t be any developing systems impacting regional weather through the weekend.
