MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- From the Storm Team Weather Center ...
The usual spotty showers and storms have been swiftly moving toward the east and northeast, but there's been a slight increase in the intensity of some of the storms. A disturbance in the northern edge of the Deep South will aid in intensifying some thunderstorms and creating a higher wind gust threat. The system will make its closest approach to the region Friday, allowing for some additional chances for strong and severe storms to be encountered in the area. Overnight, clouds may linger and a few isolated showers may be present with lows again in the middle 70s, and extra cloud cover should cap highs in the upper 80s to around 90°. Most areas around the state line and to the north have a low-end chance for severe thunderstorms tomorrow. The disturbance is likely to slip off to the east of the region by the weekend, which will actually limit storm development to the coastal zones, and decrease overall rain chances into early next week. Temperatures will likely climb to uncomfortable, hot levels by that time.
