Today is the last day of this string of above-average low and high temperatures. A potent cold front will swing through the are starting Friday morning, producing more clouds but not much rain. By midday and beyond, sunshine will return, and winds from the northwest will increase, ushering in drier and cooler air that lasts straight through the weekend. Lows tonight will fall only to the mid 60s with areas of clouds, but highs will go up only to the upper 70s and lower 80s. Breezy trends will subside by Saturday morning, and morning readings through early next week will reach their lowest levels of the season so far. Highs with abundant sunshine Saturday and Sunday will stay in the 70s.
