TALLAHASSEE (WTXL) -- The summer solstice officially starts on Saturday, but we've been dealing with summer-like conditions since mid May. The last time we saw a high temp below 85° was May 17th. No cool down is on the way in the forecast. Temps only dip into the low 70s with a little bit of light fog out there. Friday, after the sun comes up, the temps climb rapidly, even hotter than today getting into the mid 90s. In the afternoon, expect more pop-up thunderstorms, some may be on the strong side with frequent lightning and heavy rainfall. Conditions like these persist through the weekend and then we fall with our temps slightly back to the low 90s by next week as our rain chances increase and moderate conditions slightly.
