Storm Team Thursday evening forecast (01/08/2015)

MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- From the Storm Team Weather Center ...

Massively cold air has been entrenched in the region for nearly 24 hours, and the magnitude of the Arctic air mass limited today's highs to the lower 40s.  With less wind tonight and a mainly clear sky, temps will fall steadily back to below freezing even before midnight, then leveling off in the middle 20s in most interior areas.  Some locations may experience a brief hard freeze early Friday.  Into the upcoming weekend, temperatures will rebound from the deeply cold levels, but only gradually.  A few more clouds will mix in with the Friday sunshine, then the sky will transition to mostly cloudy by Sunday as an upper disturbance lifts in from the Gulf.  Its presence will create chances for passing showers, but nothing major at this point.  Temps early next week will be near or a bit above average with limited sunshine.
