MIDWAY, Fl. (WTXL) -- A moisture-rich environment along the eastern Gulf and southeastern U.S. will stick around through next week. What this ultimately means is that there will be higher than normal rain chances through the weekend and the first half of next week.
As we advance into Friday, rain coverage will likely stay high (60-70%). Morning lows are expected to range in the mid to upper 70s, with daytime highs forecast to be in the lower 90s. Heavy rainfall will continue to be the primary threat with developing storms because of the high amounts of moisture present.
Saturday into Sunday, the rain coverage becomes more scattered and less widespread at around 50%, and afternoon high temperatures will have the opportunity to climb to the mid 90s inland (with lower 90s along the Big Bend coast) before more cloud cover develops.
The next work week will likely see similar trends with elevated rain chances and temperatures hovering near 90 degrees.
Forecaster Melanie Steinberg will have the latest on your morning forecast starting at 5 a.m. on WTXL Sunrise.
