MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- From the Storm Team Weather Center ...
We are monitoring the progress of a low-pressure system over the western Gulf, producing widespread areas of heavy rain over the central Gulf coast, and generally moving eastward through tonight and tomorrow. Cloudiness will increase and thicken further over the local region tonight, with the onset of showers starting in western sections by sunrise Friday. Winds will increase from the south, carrying more moisture and a little extra wind force into the system, which may lead to heavier rain and a few stronger thunderstorms. Overall severe weather risk is low, but isolated storms may create damaging wind gusts and isolated tornadoes, especially near coastal sections in the afternoon. Lows tonight will fall into the 50s, and highs will approach the 70s. Pockets of downpours may enhance rain totals, with most areas received between one and two inches Friday through Saturday morning. Clearing will commence by midday Saturday with a brisk, cooler feel. Sunshine dominates on Sunday.
