MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- From the Storm Team Weather Center ...
Rain chances will continue to decrease as the weekend approaches thanks to an area of high pressure, situated over the eastern Gulf all week, moving north and helping to suppress the daily showers and storm formation cycle. Isolated showers and storms are still possible, but fewer of us will run into the action with the closer approach of the high. Temperatures will also climb, as northwest and west wind hold off the seabreeze and promote hotter-than-usual conditions for most of the central and eastern Gulf coast regions. Tonight’s lows will drop into the low to mid 70s, and highs will range from around 90° at the coast to 97° in interior south Georgia. This is likely only the beginning of scorching afternoon; weekend max temps may attempt to flirt with 100° for some inland spots, and the vast majority of us will experience temps around 95° to 98°. The tropical scene will remain quiet through the weekend.
