MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- From the Storm Team Weather Center ...
The slow-moving frontal system is dividing the region, keeping shower and storm action confined to the ForgottenCoast and the I-75 corridor near and south of the state line. It is much drier in southwest Georgia and parts of the tri-state. These differences in moisture levels will influence lows and cloud cover overnight; southwest Georgia locations may experience lows near 70° with a clear sky, while coastal areas will be stuck in the middle 70s with a slight chance for morning showers and thunder, which will increase for the shore and the Suwannee valley Friday afternoon. Highs in most areas will be in the middle 90s, but lower if clouds prevail. The dry air mass will shift slightly south by Saturday, reducing rain chances across the region, before the moisture overtakes the drier air and causes afternoon rain chances to return. Temperatures will be a bit above average during the day, and possibly near or below average in the mornings of the weekend. There are no significant tropical developments to report.
