MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- From the Storm Team Weather Center ...
The typical late-day storm development is underway as the coastal seabreeze penetrates inland toward the state line, with scattered showers, downpours, and thunderstorms forming in its wake. As individual storms attempt to merge together, brief intensification is possible. Frequently lightning may occur, and some gusty storm-related winds. Severe weather chances are generally low, however. Action will wind down after sunset, leaving a clearing trend and lows overnight in the mid to low 70s. A ridge of high pressure will be present Friday, having a slight reducing effect on afternoon storm formation. Still, about 30% may encounter rain and thunder, but highs will have greater support to reach the middle 90s. The weekend will also feature hot temperatures and mostly limited rain chances, but the storms that do far Saturday and Sunday have a better chance to contain severe weather elements of gusty winds and occasional hail.
