MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- An active start to our day with strong thunderstorms impacting our western zones, mainly Liberty, Gadsden, and Franklin counties. The chance for scattered thunderstorms will persist all across the Big Bend region for the rest of the day into the evening. As the daytime heating lessens due to nightfall, the chance for rain will decrease. A stalled frontal boundary that has been the cause of rainfall the past couple of days will stay around until Tuesday before dipping south into central Florida and this will cause drier air to filter in after Wednesday, dropping our rain coverage to 30%. The main source of moisture is from the Gulf sea breeze. Expect highs in the area to be around the lower to mid 90s through Tuesday. Expect during the slightly drier period for inland temperatures to be a bit hotter, mainly in the mid 90s to upper 90s in some spots inland. The frontal boundary will then rise back north and rain chances will increase to 40-50% for next weekend, with lower 90s for highs.
