Warm, muggy conditions will persist tonight and through the day tomorrow as thick clouds and rain showers become more numerous overnight. Coverage and intensity of rain showers will increase tomorrow, with the bulk of the rain and thunderstorms arriving during the morning hours. Rain could be heavy at times, with a few localized areas possibly receiving totals of 2-3 inches. Clearing on Tuesday will be gradual as much colder northern air sweeps down behind the front. Lows on Christmas morning will approach the freezing mark, with highs warming to the low 60s and sunny skies across the area. Southerly flow will return moisture to the area by the end of next week, making for partly cloudy skies and low-end rain chances near 20% on Thursday. Highs will rebound to the mid 60s, with lows near average (around 40 degrees) for the rest of the work week.
