MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- The tropical wave south will move closer into Sunday night and Monday. Largest threats are heavy rain accumulations from one to three inches, with the highest expected accumulations near the Big Bend coast. The clouds and the rain should help to keep areas cooler and highs will struggle to reach 80 degrees all across the region. Accompanied with the heavy rain threat, there exists a marginal threat for severe thunderstorms mainly south of the I-10 corridor. An isolated tornado is possible.

Overnight Sunday night into Monday, lows are expected to be around 70 degrees or a tad bit higher. Once again, daytime highs will not rise much if the clouds block out the sun, which they are expected to do. Rain coverage is at 70% overall for the region, with 80% for the coast.

Monday night into Tuesday, rain coverage will still be relatively high (around 50%) with a generally drying trend afterward into Wednesday as the low pressure system moves to our north and east. This will allow for some drier winds to filter through, helping to bring the sun back out. Daytime highs Tuesday through Thursday will likely be in the lower 80s with lows in the lower 70s. Rain coverage will continue to decrease to likely near zero by next weekend.
