TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXl) -- A high pressure still sits just south of the Florida Gulf Coast, and is continuing to bring up west and southwesterly winds. This high is expected to remain in place for the rest of the Memorial Day weekend, meaning Monday's weather will be similar to what we felt on Sunday. Due to higher humidity and the warmer than average temperatures, there is a chance of seeing some rain and a possible thunderstorm Monday afternoon.
Tonight, it'll be a warm and muggy one with lows only falling to 70 degrees for most of the area. Partly to mostly cloudy skies will be on tap for the night with west to southwest winds 5 to 10 mph. Any rain chances from earlier will drop off by nightfall.
Memorial day will be very similar to Sunday in terms of our weather...scattered clouds and highs in the lower 90s. Winds remain at about 5 to 10 mph from the west and southwest. There is a chance of rain and possible thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening hours. At this time, there is a small chance that we could see an isolated severe thunderstorm for portions of Georgia, from Tift county down to Baker and Miller counties.
Monday night will be similar to tonight...lows in the lower 70s, partly cloudy, and a light west to southwest wind. Rain chances are not expected to stay through the night.
