TALLAHASSEE, FL. (WTXL) -- Sunday proved to be another cold day with overnight lows dropping to the mid 20s and daytime highs in the mid and upper 40s. A high pressure has been slowly moving toward the east coast, which will help warm temperatures as we slide into the next work week as well as keep our skies virtually cloud free.
Light winds and clear skies tonight will help overnight lows fall to about 26 degrees for much of the area. Most of us tonight are NOT under a freeze warning like last night, but a small portion of the region has a hard freeze warning again. This HARD FREEZE WARNING goes into effect from 10 pm Sunday night until 9 am Monday morning and includes Florida counties east of Hamilton, Suwannee, and Columbia, including those listed. Georgia counties of Clinch, and Echols, as well as areas to the east are also affected by this warning. If you live in this area, remember to protect your pets, plants, and pipes. Temperatures are likely to stay in the mid 20s for at least eight hours.
Monday will start off very chilly, near 30 degrees for the commute to work and school. Temperatures will top off in the lower to mid 50s under sunny skies. Winds will be moderate from the east, about 5-10 mph. Monday night will still be clear and cold, but overnight lows will only fall to the upper 30s, which is a big improvement from what we've felt this weekend.
