MIDWAY, Fl. (WTXL) -- Tropical Storm Warnings exist for the coast of the Big Bend, down to near Tampa. Specifics are Coastal and Inland Franklin, Taylor, and Wakulla counties. In addition, coastal Jefferson county is under the warning.

As the Tropical Depression approaches, it will have a brief opportunity to strengthen in the eastern Gulf of Mexico. This will likely be the time frame where it becomes Tropical Storm Colin. With the approach of a cold front and this tropical system, rain threats will be nearly certain, with coverage at 80% and higher along the coast. Temperatures during Monday morning will range in the mid to upper 70s with daytime highs in the lower 80s. Monday afternoon has a Marginal // Slight severe threat, meaning that some storms in the afternoon can feature strong winds of 60 mph+ and isolated tornadoes will be possible. Included in this threat, is the potential for flash flooding and coastal flooding.

Monday evening is forecast to be the messiest as the center of the tropical system approaches, bringing gusty winds in excess of 40 mph at times, and heavy rainfall likely.
