MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- The new dome of high pressure out west will continue to push east over the night tonight and into tomorrow. This means its influence will only strengthen and keep our region in a clear pattern for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. As the high moves over our region for tonight, winds will die down and that will help the surface to cool considerably. Lows tonight will drop to the lower to mid 30s for inland areas, with upper 30s near the Gulf coast. Highs will rise back up into the mid and upper 60s as we'll see abundant sunlight to help keep us warm for the holiday afternoon. The high pressure system will continue to push into the Atlantic ocean after Monday. Due to that, winds will pick up from the south somewhat, and temps will moderate with lows near 40 degrees and highs in the mid to upper 60s until Friday when a new low pressure system out west is expected to develop and increase rain coverage (60% for Friday). Until then, we will see slightly above average temperatures throughout the week with little to no rain to talk about.
