MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- The cold front that will drop our temperatures sharply has pushed through the region earlier Sunday and cool winds from the north will enhance the already cool feeling outside. A dome of high pressure originating from northwest Canada will be in control Monday and Tuesday before pushing east and then a slow and gradual warm up will occur.
Lows into Monday morning will be chilly. Values will likely range in the upper 30s to near 40 degrees with the coldest air in southwest Georgia counties. Freeze warnings are in effect just outside of the region as the coldest air will stay put there. Winds will be somewhat light, out of the northwest 5-10 mph. Daytime highs will struggle to reach the 60s Monday with the core of the high drifting closer to us. ANd then, the coldest night is expected to occur Monday night into Tuesday morning as winds calm, which can promote temperatures dropping further. Values will likely range in the lower 30s in South Georgia and mid to upper 30s elsewhere.
After Tuesday, the high pressure system pushes east, guiding in more easterly winds to promote a slow but steady warming trend with seasonal conditions in time for the Thanksgiving holiday.
