MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- The passage of a cold front Saturday has allowed for cooler conditions to filter on through, but moisture coming off the back flow from low pressure associated with the front has allowed for extensive cloudiness to dominate the region. Afternoon highs Sunday struggled to reach the upper 70s with plenty of sites in South Georgia seeing low 70s for highs. High pressure will set in and allow for partly cloudy conditions for Monday, ahead of another cold front forecast to move in Tuesday.
Overnight lows Sunday night into Monday morning will likely fall to the lower 60s with upper 50s possible (especially for western zones). Overall winds will be light which should help in the cooling process. Monday afternoon highs are expected to reach the lower 80s with partly cloudy skies. Rain coverage is forecast to be near zero because high pressure is close by and its presence will help negate the forcing required for showers.
Moving into Tuesday and the rest of the work week, another cold front is forecast to dig through the region. Rain coverage during Tuesday and Wednesday remain low (< 20%). Lows both Tuesday and Wednesday will likely be near 60 degrees with highs in the lower to mid 80s. After that, high pressure will set in. that should give the region mainly clear skies day and night. Allowing for lows to likely dip in the mid 50s, and allowing highs to likely jump into the lower 80s with cooler winds working in from the north.
