Storm Team Sunday evening forecast (02/10/13)

What a roller coaster our weather takes this week! We end the weekend fairly mild with overnight lows bottoming out near 60.  Tomorrow, highs make it back into the mid 70s due to a bunch of Gulf moisture being pumped into our area.  This increase in moisture ahead of a cold front increases our thunderstorm chances around most of the area.  Some storms could be gusty at times with winds above 40 mph possible, though limited.  We stay mild overnight into Tuesday with the storm threat continuing throughout the day.  High temperatures peak only in the mid 60s.  Hopefully you are not sick of the rain because by Wednesday, we still have widespread storms in place.  Conditions stay mild in the upper 60s.  By the time we are done with the rain late Wednesday night, most of the area will get nearly 1 inch of rain! That will put a slight dent in the extreme drought situation that is overwhelming southern Georgia.  Valentine's Day looks dry with an isolated shower possible, but temperatures will only make it near 60 degrees. Conditions begin to rebound by Friday into the mid 60s but then we have a pretty chilly weekend ahead. Saturday and Sunday, we only make it into the mid 50s, though we will have mostly sunny conditions! Sunday morning it looks like we are going to wake up below freezing for the first time in over two weeks.  - Forecaster Max Tsaparis
