MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- The severe weather threat has diminished for the viewing area now that the cold front continues to push east. The clouds will linger throughout the night which will help slow down the cooling process but not before lows reach the lower to mid 40s overnight for Monday morning. Clouds will clear out as the morning progresses and highs will be near 60 degrees across much of the region tomorrow with ample sunshine as we see drier and cooler winds filtering in from the north. High pressure's influence will negate any rain chances for all of our work week. Tuesday will see a colder morning with lows flirting near the freezing mark and a warmer afternoon with highs in the mid 60s.
We are still anticipating an Arctic air mass to surge into our area by Wednesday evening sharply dropping low temps to subfreezing levels for Thursday morning. A Hard Freeze will likely occur as well as the possibility of a wind chill advisory (winds making the air temperature feel like the teens). Friday morning may face a hard freeze as well. A slow but gradual warm-up is expected into next weekend.
