MIDWAY, Fl. (WTXL) -- Showers and thunderstorms are forecast to increase in coverage as we see a branching wave of energy out from the northwest move in to the area Sunday. As the daytime heating kicks in, and the low level moisture rises, this energy can help spark up more thunderstorms. Rain coverage overall for Sunday is at 40% with more rain likely for southwest Georgia counties, mainly west of US Highway 319. Daytime highs are still expected to reach the lower 90s across North Florida and South Georgia, but the closer you are to Interstate 75, the hotter it will likely be, with forecast highs closer to the upper 90s.

Into Monday and beyond, a hot trend continues with isolated thunderstorms possible each and every day with daytime highs in the low to mid 90s.
