MIDWAY, Fl. (WTXL) -- The scorching heat of Summer has made Saturday full of sweltering sunny conditions. Daytime highs will approach the upper 90s again for Sunday, but this long-lasting dry spell will likely end with a long-lasting possibility of rain each day next week.
Starting as soon as tomorrow, we'll see the approach of a cold front from our northeast and that will help get the rain chances back above normal with coverage of at least 40%. Morning lows are expected to be in the low to mid 70s. Daytime highs will be forecast to approach the triple digits, though the widespread heat felt on Saturday likely wont be as extreme for Sunday. If you're in South Georgia, the rain coverage is more likely than not, being closer to the front.
For the work week onward, temperatures in the afternoons are forecast to jump to the low to mid 90s with scattered thunderstorms as a second cold front out west approaches and stalls over the region.
