MIDWAY, Fl. (WTXL) -- After Saturday, we will steadily transition to more of a mild set up in time for Father's Day. Summer also begins on Monday and it will be COOLER than average. A cold front just south of the region will continue to push away south of the Big Bend, but there is still enough energy in the atmosphere to promote some thunderstorm activity. That trend dies down with limited storms Sunday as high pressure will build in from the north on Father's Day Sunday. Rain chances will be minimal (< 20%) but even with the expected increase in sunshine, daytime highs are expected to fall below 90 degrees because of a cooler and drier air mass accompanying the high. After the holiday, this new air mass will stick with the region through mid week with lows in the upper 60s and highs approaching 90 degrees. The humid Summer feeling will return after midweek, with rain coverage returning by that time as well as highs forecast to return to the mid 90s.
