MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- The warmer pattern experienced Saturday will translate to more of a cloudy pattern for Sunday. A tropical wave developing along the Yucatán Peninsula will continue to push to the north toward the Gulf coast. Models have the wave likely making landfall along the western Florida panhandle. Regardless of intensity, the wave is expected to carry alot of rainfall with it all along the Big Bend and portions of South Georgia.
The increase in cloud cover due to the approaching tropical wave will likely keep overnight lows into Sunday morning in the upper 60s to lower 70s across the region. An isolated shower may be possible. Sunday afternoon highs will possibly reach into the mid 80s. Upper 80s aren't expected because of cloud cover likely dominating the sky with a few sun breaks here or there. Rainfall coverage on Sunday will be around 40% even through Sunday night.
As we advance into the new work week, the rain coverage will jump to 60% when the tropical wave moves closer. Mostly cloudy to overcast conditions are expected and heavy rainfall is a big threat. The showers/thunderstorm coverage will stay high through Tuesday (50%) and afterward, it is expected to decrease as drier air likely moves in. Daytime highs from Monday through Wednesday are expected to be in the lower 80s, then rising to the mid 80s.
