Tallahassee (WTXL) -- With a bubble of high pressure over the Eastern Gulf of Mexico, a warmer pattern is expected through this weekend as wind will be coming from the northwest ushering in dry, hot air. This air mass will raise temperatures to the upper 90s. We have a less than a 20% chance of rain due to winds not coming from the moist source of air from the Gulf. Even though winds will be out of the northwest, the lows throughout the Big Bend region will vary from the lower-to-mid 70s throughout the week and humidity will make even the nights feel uncomfortable. The pattern holds for Monday with highs in the mid to upper 90s and a 20 percent chance of rain in the afternoon as we slowly start to tap into some more Gulf moisture. For Tuesday through the 4th of July weekend, the pattern will change as high pressure begins to weaken and a tropical low moves towards eastern Florida increasing our rain chances to 30% on Tuesday and 40% through Friday. With the increased rain chances, forecast highs for the Big Bend will drop to lower-to-mid 90s through Saturday as we'll see more cloud cover. Even with lower highs over the daytime hours, expect the nighttime lows to persist in the lower 70s.
