TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) -- A cold front last night brought us a very cold temperatures that will continue to last through Monday. In fact, temperatures will be so cold tonight, that we have a number of freeze warnings and advisories.
A HARD FREEZE WARNING is in effect from 7 pm until 9 am for Florida counties west of Suwannee, Gilchrist, Hamilton, Columbia, including those mentioned. In Georgia, this hard freeze warning is for Echols and Clinch County. This means that temperatures tonight will be in the lower 20s. Be sure to protect your sensitive plants, bring the pets in, and protect your pipes!
A FREEZE WARNING is in effect for all other counties in the area from 7 pm tonight until 9 am Sunday. Overnight lows will likely be in the mid and upper 20s. You do not need to worry about your pipes, but sensitive plants and pets should be protected and brought in.
Everyone is under a WIND CHILL ADVISORY tonight from 7 pm until 9 am Sunday. Winds will be breezy and will likely make temperatures FEEL like they're in the mid-teens to lows 20s. If you need to be outside during this time, be sure to wear proper clothing such as hats, gloves, and jackets.
Tonight, temperatures will be VERY cold...if you could tell by the number of advisories and warnings. Overnight lows fall to the mid and upper 20s for most of us with breezy north winds, about 10-15 mph, with occasionally stronger gusts.
While Sunday will be very sunny, don't let that fool you! Sunday highs will still be cold, only warming to the mid and upper 40s. Winds will be moderate, about 5-10 mph from the north. Sunday night will be clear and cold again with lows near 26 degrees.
