MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- The warm and muggy conditions along with the prolonged cloudiness will stick around Saturday night into Sunday as a cold front out west begins to move over our area over the afternoon on Sunday. The cloudiness will keep the warmth in check with lows in the mid 60s and highs in the mid 70s. Some lows will stay in the upper 60s as the warmth will have nowhere to go with all the clouds over the region. Rain coverage will be near 70% for the area tomorrow as the front pushes through. We're monitoring a low, but not zero threat for an isolated severe storm or two during Sunday afternoon so stay tuned to WTXL ABC 27 whenever any severe storm threatens. After the front pushes through, Monday will feature a cool down to near seasonal levels. Highs will be in the lower 60s with lows in the lower 40s.
What happens next might catch some people off guard. Wednesday features even more cooling down as a trough from the north pushes down far south and pulls in some very frigid air for the latter part of the work week. We're talking hard freezes with lows in the 20s. It's been a while since we've seen temps that low. Keep in mind that this Arctic air will keep its influence strong even for Thursday afternoon with highs forecast to be in the 40s! A slow but gradual warm-up is likely into next weekend.
