TALLAHASSEE, FL. (WTXL) -- If you're not a fan of the chilly weather we've had the last few days, you're in luck! Beginning Sunday, the region will warm up quickly, with highs in the mid 70s by Monday. This warming trend is due to a high pressure that will slide east into the Atlantic ocean over the next few days. As this high pressure moves out, the warmer and more moist southerly winds will return.
Tonight, winds will become more easterly, but remain light, about 5 mph. Skies will become partly cloudy as a part of the easterly winds. Overnight lows will still remain chilly, dropping to about 40 degrees.
Sunday, winds will become more southerly, which will help warm our temperatures, as well as increase our humidity. This rise in humidity will be seen as partly cloudy skies during the day. Daytime highs will top off near 70 degrees for much of the region. Sunday night keeps the cloudier skies with lows only falling to the mid 50s.
