MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- Chilly weekend. Warm and wet Christmas week. That is the quick summary of the extended outlook.
High pressure centers over our area into Sunday morning, calming the winds in an already cold set-up, helping to enhance the cool down even further. Expect lows ranging in the low to mid 30s all across North Florida and South Georgia, EXCEPT if you live along the coast. Those communities will likely not see temperatures so low because of the subtle warming the ocean breeze provides. Sunday afternoon features a transition into yet another very WARM pattern. Highs will range in the mid to upper 60s, which is around normal, but the winds will shift in from the east. This will gradually raise the warmth and moisture content. High pressure pushes east into the Atlantic ocean and allows a front from the west to roll in by Monday night into Tuesday. A series of disturbances will enhance rain coverage each day from Tuesday into Thursday. Also, because of a very warm air mass rolling in from the west, afternoon highs may possibly reach 80 degrees by Christmas Day!
