MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- A warm return of temperatures all across the region will continue for the rest of tonight into Sunday as winds turn to the south and we tap into the Gulf of Mexico's moisture. The increased humidity and warmth will keep us above average with rain coverage increasing into our Monday. This is all due to a cold front out west that will help to pull the winds from the south as it nears our region. It wont pass until Monday. Sunday will see highs in the upper 70s in most spots with lows in the mid 50s. This is nearly 15 degrees above our average for this time of year! Monday will see the greatest rain threat as the front passes with 50% coverage of scattered showers and a few thunderstorms. Then temps drop, but will still be a few degrees above average as we wont see a major influence from much colder air to the north. Highs for Monday will be around the mid to upper 70s with lows near 60 degrees. New Years will feature highs in the mid 60s with low in the mid 40s. No numbers near freezing expected through the next seven days.
