MIDWAY, Fl. (WTXL) -- Drier air is paying North Florida and South Georgia a welcome visit with more sunshine and less of that July humidity we are accustomed to seeing. This pattern will not last long, but for the first half of the week, moisture content will be lower than normal. This will keep our humidity and dew points lower and make it feel less uncomfortable in the thick of the afternoons. More rain is expected to return after midweek as a front to our south lifts back to the north bringing us more moisture.
Monday: For the morning, temperatures have started off in the lower 70s with lower humidity keeping it more comfortable. Afternoon conditions are expected to be quite warm with highs in the mid to upper 80s. A few spots may reach 90° though the lack of moisture will mean heat index values won't be too high. Expect mainly sunny to partly cloudy skies with no rain anticipated.
Beach and Boating forecast information and your Monday Tide Times are below:
Tuesday: Another mild and drier start is anticipated with lows in the upper 60s to lower 70s. Highs are forecast to be in the upper 80s to lower 90s with mainly sunny skies. If you live east (near U.S. Hwy 221 and/or I-75), a slight chance of a rain shower will be possible (less than 20% coverage).
Wednesday: As the front to our south lifts back north toward the Big Bend, more moisture is expected to increase across the local area. This will promote the return of rain opportunities. Forecast lows will be in the lower 70s with highs near 90°. Rain coverage will be around 20%.
Thursday and Friday: As the front passes our region, rain chances are expected to quickly increase. Rain coverage looks to be around 60% with a large surge of moisture. Expect lows in the lower 70s with highs in the mid to upper 80s.
Saturday and Sunday: A typical scattered shower/storm threat is expected for the weekend with lows in the lower 70s and highs in the upper 80s to lower 90s. Rain coverage will be around 40%.
