TALLAHASSEE (WTXL) - We have active weather to begin the work week.  A heat advisory is in effect this afternoon and evening with heat index values, or how it actually feels when you factor in humidity, to exceed 110°.

Actual air temps will be steamy in the mid to upper 90s. Stay indoors if you can and if you have to be outside, seek out shady spots and keep the water bottle handy.  Storms will eventually take the hot edge off this afternoon and evening, but some isolated cells can be severe.  There is a slight risk for severe weather for our south Georgia counties and Tri-state region, mainly for high wind gusts and heavy downpours. Temps stay muggy tonight only bottoming out in the mid 70s.  A few storms can't be ruled out in the overnight hours and in the morning Tuesday, but most of the day will remain dry and more comfortable.  Though temps will continue to rise back into the low 90s, humidity will be drying out.  Midweek lows bottom out in the low 60s with limited rain chances while afternoon highs will continue to edge back into the low and mid 90s, but again it'll feel a little more bearable with low humidity values.
