Storm Team Monday morning forecast (08/04/2014)

TALLAHASSEE (WTXL) - Conditions starting off near normal this morning in the low 70s with plenty of humidity, but we're going to see an abnormal trend heading into the next several afternoons.  Rain chances will continue to be limited for the next work week or so courtesy of Tropical Storm Bertha off the eastern seaboard absorbing most of the moisture region wide and leaving dry air in its place near us.  That's not to say we won't see at least some much needed rainfall, but again it will be limited.  Today, temps will heat up into the low to mid 90s with a few scattered storms along a sea breeze front, but nothing too numerous.  Tonight, temps dip into the low 70s once again with some light fog possible. Tomorrow, a surface high pressure system sets up over the Gulf allowing winds to come from the west, bringing in hot and relatively dry air.  Therefore, expect temps to be bumped up into the mid to upper 90s for most of the work week with only a few afternoon storms likely with this set up.  By the weekend, another shortwave of moisture moves in from the Tennessee River Valley, hopefully sparking more widespread showers and storminess.  Temps by then will plateau back into the lower 90s.
