TALLAHASSEE (WTXL) - A real shift in the weather pattern this week compared to the first several days of December. Thick cloud cover this morning will hold on into the afternoon so we'll keep temps cool only in the mid 50s for highs. You may see a passing drizzle or light shower, but most of us will be dry, despite the ample cloud cover. Skies clear overnight as the cold front pushes the moisture and clouds to the south, which will allow temps to plummet as high pressure builds in. We'll approach the 40° mark by Tuesday morning. Afternoon temps will climb into the low 60s, which is still a few degrees below the seasonal average. High pressure sticks around through the rest of the week which will allow for cool nights and mornings and overall comfortable afternoons. Lows by Wednesday morning will be in the upper 30s with highs in the upper 50s. Lows Thursday morning will be near freezing, so you could see some frosty spots especially in outlying areas, but nothing out of the question for this time of year. Highs heading into the end of the work week will be back into the 60s and it looks to be a comfortable weekend ahead with lows in the 40s and highs in the upper 60s and near 70°.
