MIDWAY, Fl. (WTXL) -- Today marks the start of the Spring Season (The equinox occurs at 6:28am).
With Spring, means more warmth and more storms, of course. To start this week, we'll see temperatures in the afternoon above average. This is entirely different from the intense Winter spell last week.
Monday: With high pressure in control and a cold front well to our north, we will be in a sunny and warmer pattern. We start off the morning cool and clear, with temperatures in the 40s. Ample sunshine will help us see temperatures closing in on 80°, with most areas seeing upper 70s.
Coastal areas will be slightly cooler with highs in the lower to mid 70s. More information on the Beach and Boating forecast is available with the images below:
Tide Times for this Monday are available below:
Tuesday: Temperatures will continue to climb in this warmer than average pattern. Morning lows are forecast to start off in the lower 50s. Stronger southwest winds will help pull in more moisture and warmth. Expect daytime highs to surpass 80° inland, with mid to upper 70s along the coast. Partly cloudy skies will continue.
Wednesday: Morning lows will be mild, yet again, with numbers in the mid to upper 50s. The unseasonably warm pattern is forecast to continue with an approaching cold front helping to spark an isolated shower or storm in the afternoon. Rain coverage is minimal, only at 20% or less. Expect highs to be in the lower to mid 80s inland, with temperatures slightly cooler near the shore.
Thursday: The morning will likely be a repeat of Wednesday with above average warmth. The approaching front will pass through our area on Thursday. This may spark additional showers (rain coverage 20%) with cooler highs for the afternoon. Expect only mid 70s inland.
Friday through Sunday: With a stronger disturbance forecast to move in from the west by this weekend, the rain chance will stick with us through the end of the week into the weekend. As of now, the rain chance stays minimal early on (20%), growing into a more isolated and scattered coverage for Saturday and Sunday (30% +). It is too early to tell if this front will bring a severe threat to our local area, but prepare for some storms to be possible. Lows will be close to 60° with highs in the upper 70s to near 80°.
