Storm Team Monday morning forecast (07/08/2013)

Posted

An area of high pressure sits to the East of the Carolina coast. The high pressure will bring about drier conditions, and due to its location from our local area, winds will be driven inland from the southeast. The southeasterly winds will bring Gulf moisture onshore in the afternoon and early evening hours. Expect a 40% chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms this afternoon and into the evening hours. An umbrella is recommended all week, as the summer pattern of afternoon showers and thunderstorms will be in place. Peak temperatures this afternoon will be in the lower 90s throughout North Florida and South Georgia. Warm afternoon highs will stick around all week, and so will the chance of a shower or  thunderstorm each day. If you want to beat the heat and rain, your best bet would be to get your outdoor activities done in the morning!
