MIDWAY, Fl. (WTXL) -- Winter is NOT OVER YET. This week will surely prove that with a significant polar chill rolling into the southeast for the middle of the week. In fact, most of the work week will have below average temperatures for daytime highs.
Monday starts off chilly and gloomy, with an expected increase in cloud cover and rainfall. A disturbance from the northwest will move into the local area today. This, coupled with cool winds from the northeast, will help to bring a cold rain to the region. Rain coverage will be around 60-70% all day, increasing in the afternoon. Thunder is possible, but not likely, as winds are not warm enough to support this type of rain activity. Expect afternoon highs to stay in the mid 50s to 60°.
The gloomy conditions will continue for the Beach and Boating forecast, too. Take a look:
Tide Times for Monday are here:
Tuesday morning will be chilly, with a second dose of energy allowing the chance for showers to continue (30% coverage). Expect temperatures in the mid to upper 40s. Highs will be back to 60° or so, as brisk winds from the north bring in cooler air. Breezy conditions will stick around for most of the day.
Wednesday morning gets even colder with clearer skies. You'll likely need a sweater all day long with lows in the mid to upper 30s, and highs in the upper 50s.
Thursday morning will likely bring a light freeze to inland spots. Lower 30s will be spread across the region (a few upper 20s possible). Coastal areas will be warmer, with lows in the mid 30s. Expect highs to once again, hover around 60°.
Friday will start off cold again, with lows expected to be in the 30s. Afternoon temperatures will start to rebound as winds shift from the east and southeast. This will bring 70s back into the picture.
Saturday and Sunday will be mild, with lows in the mid 40s and highs in the lower to mid 70s.
