TALLAHASSEE (WTXL) - Summery conditions are alive and well for the 4th of July holiday. It's a muggy, warm start to the day with temps in the mid 70s. Mid 90s with feels-like temps above 100° are expected this afternoon. A few passing showers are possible before scattered storms impact the region this afternoon and evening. By sunset, the rain threat should diminish and most of the region should be quiet in time for the fireworks. The exception will be the Tri-State which could see a few hit and miss showers even late in the day. High pressure builds over the Gulf allowing winds to turn more westerly which will only allow for a few scattered storms through most of the work week while consistently heating us up into the upper 90s. This weekend as rain threats turn more isolated in nature with an increasing heat dome, temps may scrape 100°.
