Good Monday morning! The region is starting out warm and humid. This is typical for summer, and the warmth and humidity will stick around today. Morning temperatures in north Florida were already in the mid 70s before sunrise, and in the lower 70s in southern Georgia. Temperatures will continue to climb after sunrise and skies will remain partly sunny. Afternoon highs will be in the lower 90s throughout all of northern Florida, with a high of 92 expected for Tallahassee. There is a 40% chance of seeing scattered afternoon showers and thunderstorms this afternoon and into the early evening hours. Southeastern parts of our area are more likely to see some of the rain. After sunset, most of the storm activity should taper off. Overnight lows for tonight and the rest of the week will be in the lower 70s. Afternoon highs will be in the lower to mid 90s for the week, and rain chances will remain in the 30-40% as the typical summer sea breeze will contribute to afternoon showers and storm development. Keeping an umbrella on hand would be a good idea every afternoon this week.
