Storm Team Monday morning forecast (3/11/2013)

and last updated

We start this morning with mild temperatures in the 50s and scattered clouds streaming overhead. Most of Monday will be rain free, warm and breezy with highs in the low 70s. Clouds will gradually increase through the afternoon along with a south wind; we could easily see gusts close to 35mph. A cold front with a line of rain will approach the tristate area this evening between 3-5pm EDT, Thomasville/Tallahassee/St.Marks: 5pm-7pm, the line will then slow down and take until early Tuesday morning to exit east of I-75. We’re not too concerned with severe weather along this front; the greatest instability that tends to drive severe storms will be well off shore. Rivers are still running a bit high, but with expected rain totals between .25-1.50”, a significant water rise isn’t an issue. Tomorrow, the front is gone and we’ll be cooler and breezy; highs don’t get out of the mid 60s. Much of the work week will be sunny and cool by mid March standards; highs will be in the middle 60s and lows near 40°. High pressure will be our dominate feature meaning lots of sun for you right through St. Patrick’s Day on Sunday. Also, a gradual warm up will happen by the weekend, we’re 77° by Sunday.

Be safe and have a great Monday!
