MIDWAY, Fl. (WTXL) -- The pattern for Monday is expected to be hot (as usual), but with more cloud cover developing in the afternoon and scattered thunderstorms. Expect coverage around 40% after lunchtime when they heating from the sun will help to bubble up more clouds and thunderstorms. Afternoon highs on Monday are expected to still reach the mid 90s inland. For those closer to the shores, afternoon highs will likely hover around 90 degrees. All across the region, heat index values are expected to surpass 100 degrees once again. Lows into Monday night and Tuesday morning will range in the low to mid 70s inland, with upper 70s along the Big Bend coast.
Tuesday afternoon is forecast to give us even more rain as a cold front moves closer to the region. The added instability this front will give us, will raise rain coverage to 50-60%. Afternoon highs, however, still likely reaching the mid 90s in some spots, with lower 90s likely across the board.
