TALLAHASSEE (WTXL) - It's back to school, but it still feels very summery out there! Conditions start off muggy with a little bit of fog cover around the region. Temps will quickly heat back up into the mid 90s this afternoon with scattered storms expected, especially in our Florida counties. A low pressure system in the Tennessee River Valley is our catalyst to spark several storms. But this system doesn't effect our region that long. High pressure builds in over the open Gulf waters which will slowly start to limit our rain potential. Heading into Tuesday, still expect about a 30% coverage of showers and storms with temps back into the mid 90s. By midweek though, the high pressure feature will dominate our weather pattern allowing for temps to soar a little bit more as winds aren't moderated by the Gulf water anymore, rather than turn from the land ushering in hotter, drier air. An isolated storm can't be ruled out, but the weather pattern will be mainly dry. Temps in the upper 90s. This pattern holds true into the weekend.
