TALLAHASSEE (WTXL) - Cooler conditions are on the way, especially in the overnight hours! Until then, another hot afternoon shaping up with plenty of sunshine boosting temps to the mid 90s again. Fewer storms are expected today with a lingering storm or two possible this morning for our eastern counties, but other than that most folks staying dry. A reinforcing cold front sweeps through overnight, dropping temps by Tuesday morning to the low 70s. Mid to upper 90s stick around tomorrow afternoon but then by Wednesday morning, clear skies and a light breeze from the northwest will usher in cooler, more comfortable air, dropping temps to the upper 60s. This will be the first time in over six weeks we've had below average temps overnight and the coolest air we've seen since May 22nd! By the afternoon, dry conditions and plenty of sunshine will still allow temps to get to the low 90s; after all it is still August. Mid 60s can be expected by Thursday morning with afternoon temps back into the low and mid 90s. Storm chacnes turn more scattered in nature by the weekend as winds begin to shift back from the Gulf allowing for more moisture and moderating conditions, especially overnight. Low to mid 70s are expected in the early morning hours of the weekend with temps in the afternoon backing off a bit to the low 90s.
