Storm Team Monday morning forecast (09/01/2014)

TALLAHASSEE (WTXL) - Happy Labor Day and welcome to September! Much of the same expected today as we saw the rest of your long weekend.  A few storms aren't out of the question heading into the later afternoon and evening hours as a sea breeze will set up and interact with the boundaries farther inland, causing for the storminess to arise.  As we've seen the last few days, a couple of these storms can cause heavy downpours and localized flooding.  The reason we're not seeing widespread storminess is a weak area of high pressure is building in the southeast allowing for at least some stabilization of the atmosphere.  This will allow us to get in on plenty of sunshine bumping those temps into the mid 90s once again with triple index heat index values. Lows tonight bottom out in the low to mid 70s.  This pattern holds true through late in the work week in which a frontal system dives into the Tennessee River Valley causing just enough lift in the atmosphere to support an increase in our storm coverage.
