MIDWAY, Fl. (WTXL) -- Stormy weather is expected to return today as a low pressure system moves across the southeast. The progression of this low pressure system, combined with strong upper level winds with large amounts of warmth and moisture, will allow the region to see an elevated risk for severe weather this afternoon and Tuesday morning. The Severe Prediction Center with the National Weather Service has put a Slight Risk for severe weather for the Panhandle and the Western Big Bend, including Southwest Georgia. Gusty winds and heavy downpours are possible today.
Temperatures in the afternoon will struggle to reach the mid 70s with lows tonight into tomorrow morning around 70 degrees. Rain coverage will be above 90% Monday, 80% Tuesday morning.
The weather will improve nicely by Tuesday evening with clearer skies and cooler temps. Highs for Wednesday and Thursday will be around 70 degrees with lows in the upper 40s to lower 50s.
Another system may bring isolated showers on Thursday, but once it passes, a significant cold blast is expected to occur...
