This is literally the coolest time in the foreseeable future, as quick-forming upper ridging will support a steady warming trend through the end of the week. Winds will shift by Wednesday to a southerly flow, allowing higher nighttime temps, and highs a few degrees above average. A front will clip the area by the end of the work week, providing scattered showers or a few storms for some, but not all areas. Another round of hot temperatures are projected for the weekend. For now, the lows tonight will fall into the low 50s as clouds break, and highs Tuesday will rebound back into the 80s.
