Storm Team Monday evening forecast (06/22/2015)

Posted

MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- From the Storm Team Weather Center ...

The trend of daily heat and late-afternoon strong thunderstorms continues today ... but a break is in sight. We'll have to wait a few more days to experience that break, though. In the meantime, there's still a small risk for any of the evening thunderstorms to gain strength temporarily and produce wind gusts, excessive lightning, local downpours, and even hail in some instances. Storms dissipate later tonight, leaving scattered clouds and abundant moisture. Lows will reach the mid 70s, then highs soar back into the mid and upper 90s Tuesday afternoon before the individual storms blossom in the intense heating. By the end of the week, a cold front from the north will enter the Deep South, dislodging the heat-wave high and allow the chance for broader cloud coverage, areas of rain, and near-average temperatures.
