Storm Team Monday evening forecast (06/16/2014)

Posted

MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- From the Storm Team Weather Center ...

Spotty thunderstorms and showers are moving from interior south Georgia toward the central Big Bend through the early evening hours.  Most storms should remain below severe levels, but may still produce brief heavy rain, some gusty winds, and vivid lightning.  Showers and storms will die off by late tonight, leaving fewer clouds and lows dropping to around 70°.  A small bubble of higher pressure over the Southeast will influence rain activity by keeping developing storms more isolated and less frequent than in days past.  The high will also promote warmer conditions, so highs are forecast to reach the mid 90s away from the coast.  A few late-day thunderstorms will still be in the picture.  An overall east to southeast wind pattern may promote higher rain chances this week around and east of I-75, with lesser coverage to the west and into south Georgia.  Temps are likely to be a few degrees above average in the afternoons.
